Cornhusker State Games
On July
19th and 20th, 12 members of the Fremont Wrestling
Club competed at the Cornhusker State Games. In the
Scholastic Competition the results were:
Second place went to Keisean Ferdinand and Gabrielle
Weyhrich. Third place went to Austin Weyhrich, and
Alex Smith. Honorable Mention went to Devon Snow,
Zach Hamilton and Curtis Smith.
In the Greco Competition Gabrielle Weyhrich took
2nd.
In
Takedowns second place went to Zach Hamilton and
Devon Snow. Third went to Head Coach Sean Edie.
Honorable Mention went to Keisean Ferdinand.
On July
26th Devon Snow competed in Beach Wrestling and took
1st place. Congratulations to all the Fremont
Wrestlers!
Huskerland State Tournament
On April 12
and 13th, 20 qualifying wrestlers traveled to
Kearney to attend the Huskerland State Wrestling
Tournament. Taking first place was Clay Konicek and
Torrey Escamilla. Second place finishes went to
Brandon Lincoln, Trevor Smolinski, Felipe Pinales, Michael Lambert, Austin Weyhrich and Sean Mueller.
Third place went to Tyler Thomsen and Sean Lambert.
Fourth place went to Keisean Ferdinand and Gage
Harbaugh. Honorable Mention went to Gabrielle
Weyhrich, Paxton Sternberg, Devon Snow, Trevor
Foster, Dylan Schiermeyer, Spencer Swanson and Layne Goreham. Champion of Champion title went to Clay

National Wrestling Association Tournament
On April 5,
2 girls traveled to the Girls National Wrestling
Association Tournament. Gabrielle Weyhrich and
Hailey Schiermeyer both took home first place.
Lincoln Pius Tournament
On April 4,
6 wreslters and two adults battled another
tournament in the afternoon. Taking first place was
Alex Smith, Cody Fielder, Hailey Schiermeyer and
Garret Swanson. Second place went to Alex Clark.
Fourth place went to Zach Hamilton. Head Coach Sean
Edie took third place and Curtis Smith took fourth
place.

On April 4,
22 wrestlers traveled to Malcolm to compete. First
place went to Alex Clark, Cody Fielder, Garret

place went to Alex Smith, Hailey Schiermeyer (1st
and 2nd division), Austin Weyhrich, Brian Fielder

On March 21

the Midwest Classic National Tournament. First place

Norfolk Catholic Duals
On March 6
and 7, Norfolk Catholic hosted a dual team
tournament. Teams present included Columbus,
Norfolk, Battle Creek, Madison and Fremont. The
6-8th grade team took second place with the
following team points scores: win against Battle
Creek 47-28, win against Norfolk Public 44-23, win
against Madison 46-23, and loss to Columbus 30-41.

Coaches participate in Hot Dog Eating Contest
Four
Fremont Wrestling Club coaches try their best at the
Big Red Keno Hot Dog Eating Contest during the Super
Bowl on February 3. Coaches Eric Castillo, Elliot
Foster, Sean Edie and Tom Fielder tried their best
hot dog eating...and failed. The four fearless
coaches endured a taste of their own medicine with 6
of their wrestlers coaching them on proper hot dog
eating technique in hopes of taking home the title
of winner. Taking home third place was Eric Castillo
and Honorable Mention went to Elliot Foster, Sean
Edie and Tom Fielder.

Columbus Dual
On
January 24, the
Fremont Wrestling Club took 20 wrestlers to
Columbus for a dual. The dual team included 3rd-
5th grade division Brian Fielder (win by fall),
Gage Harbaugh, Austin Weyhrich, Sean Mueller,
Spencer Swanson, Sean Lambert (win by fall),
Skylar Babb, Moses Nuno, Felipe Pinales (win)
and Tyler Thomsen. 6th-8th grade division
included Morgan Geisick (win by fall), Paxton
Sternberg(win), Trevor Smolinski (win by tech
fall), Devon Snow (win by fall), Gabrielle
Weyhrich (win), Brandon Lincoln (win by fall),
Michael Lambert, Blake Smolinski (win by fall),
Clay Konicek (win by fall) and Harley Larson.
The Fremont Wrestling Club Dual team won the
6th-8th grade division.

Plattsmouth Tournament
On January
20 the Fremont Wrestling Club traveled to
Plattsmouth to compete. Taking first place was Alex
Smith, Colton McCurdy, Gage Harbaugh, Austin
Weyhrich, Paxton Sternberg, Felipe Pinales, Trevor
Smolinski, and Brandon Lincoln. Second place
finishes went to Jaston Zurcher, Haysen Reeser,
Nolan Thomsen, Lane Grant, Alex Clark, Dylan Bagley,
Cody Fielder, Cody Carlson, Garret Swanson, Trevor
Foster and Sean Mueller. Third place went to Cohen
Zurcher, Cooper Leriger, Preston Reiger, Keaton
Hintz, hailey Schiermeyer, Morgan Giesick, Tanner
Vanek, Layne Goreham, Brian Fielder, Skylar Babb,
Harley Larson, Gabrielle Weyhrich and Blake
Smolinski. Forth place went to Ty Leriger, Ben
Castillo, Zach Hamilton, Dawson Prittchett, Jackson
Ritchhart, Spencer Swanson, Riley Weyer and Devon
Snow.

BJSA
Tournament
On January
19 three wrestlers competed at the Bellevue Junior
Sports Association Tournament. Gage Harbaugh took
second place, and Devon Snow and Zach Hamilton took
third place.

Lincoln Warriors
Tournament
The Fremont Wrestling Club traveled
to Lincoln on Sunday, January 13 to compete. First
place went to Zach Hamilton, Hailey Schiermeyer,
Michael Lambert and Clay Konicek. Taking second
place were Hayden Reeser, Cody Carlson, Keaton Hintz, Dylan Bagley,
Garret Swanson, Caleb Villwok, Gage Harbaugh, Austin
Weyhrich, Sean Lambert and Layne Goreham.
Third place went to Lane Grant, Cooper Leriger, Alex
Smith, Cody Fielder, Jackson Ritchhart, Jacob Fritz,
Sean Mueller, Cutty Castillo, Brian Fielder, Skylar
Babb, Devon Snow and Blake Smolinski. Fourth place
went to Ty Leriger, Nolan Thomsen, Alex Clark, Cohen
Zurcher, Ethan Villwok, Ben Castillo, Preston Reiger, Nathan Adams, Dylan Schiermeyer,
Spencer Swanson, Tanner Vanek, Alexis Villwok, Devin
Zurcher, Morgan Giesick, Keisean Ferdinand, Trevor
Smolinksi, Trenton Tucker (5th & 6th Division),
Riley Weyer, Trenton Tucker (7th & 8th Division),
Gabrielle Weyhrich, Mark Bilava and Harley Larson.
Fifth place placers were Jaston Zurcher and Felipe
Pinales. Fremont Wrestling Club took 4th place in
the Overall Team Standings.
Red Oak
Tournament
On Saturday,
January 12, 2008 seven wrestlers traveled to Head
Coach Sean Edie's hometown of Red Oak, Iowa. Placing
first were Garret Swanson, Gage Harbaugh and Clay
Konicek. Devon Snow placed third, while Zach
Hamilton, Spencer Swanson and Paxton Sternberg took
third place.

West Tournament
The Fremont
Wrestling Club competed at the Millard West Invite
on Sunday January 6, 2008. Finishing in first place
were Cody Carlson, Zach Hamilton (6 & Under
Division), Gage Harbaugh, Colton McCurdy, Felipe
Pinales, Trevor Smolinski, Tyler Thomsen, Trenton
Tucker, Austin Weyhrich. Second place went to Dylan
Bagley, Keisean Ferdinand (11 & 12 Division), Cody
Fielder, Michael Lambert, Cooper Leriger, Clay
Konicek, Sean Mueller, Alexander Smith, Garret
Swanson, Gabrielle Weyhrich. Taking third place was
Cutty Castillo, Keisean Ferdinand ( 9& 10 Division),
Bryan Fielder, Zach Hamilton (7 & 8 Division),
Keaton Hintz, Sean Lambert, Harley Larson, Ty
Leriger, Hayden Reeser, Jackson Ritchhart, Devon
Snow, Spencer Swanson. Fourth place went to
